The video below features one of the most challenging grooming cases I’ve encountered. The matting was incredibly thick and tight across the pup’s entire body. The owner shared that financial struggles had kept him from calling sooner, and as the situation worsened, he feared being judged or reported.
To add to the challenge, this little dog was as fierce as a junkyard dog! His owner is bedridden, and this pup took his job as a protector very seriously. In fact, the owner had to medicate him just to get him on a leash. However, once I got him away from his pet parent and into a new environment, he settled down beautifully. Without that medication and careful handling, his protective nature would have made the groom impossible.
I want to be very clear: please never let financial concerns, behavior issues, or fear of judgment stop you from seeking help for your dog. Health and comfort must always come first. If you are struggling, I am always willing to have a conversation to find a solution—just as I did for this client.
